I was online last nite with a long-lost fren from Skype.
He is from Malaysia too. He's the 1 who've tried to break record by driving Proton Satria around the world. If i'm not mistaken, he couldnt finish the journey due to visa / permit problem from China / vietnam...i think...i cant really remember...but, he got stucked at that country for a couple of days. Couldnt go thru but may turn back...anyway, he's proud that he got the chance to be the main highlight of that journey - 1 of Malaysia Boleh missions!
Last time he worked in Putrajaya as a quiantity surveyor. Now, he's working in Dubai. A nice place to be & the place that i was trying to go since 1.5 years ago...Ahaks...! He told me that Dubai nowadays is not in good shape.
Most of the economy, biz, etc are relying on US. Most expats left / have to return to their home country due to economic down-turn. Expenses there are quite high! The famos bujr dubai is left with many expty spaces for many2 floors.
He sais he's lucky that he's still have a job there. He has a permanent job in Dubai. Only those who is in job-contract or giving lots of trouble to the company will be terminated / sent back to their home country.
I'm glad that i hear about this now. I might be postponing my job search for the moment....But, i'll be keeping on searching there or in any other UAE countries. I believe that this down-turn economic wont linger forever. It's just a cycle like every 10 years once....? Perhaps...
